GUIDANCE FOR EVERY STAGE

Student Rules

Shared expectations help students feel safe, build trust and take part in school and community life with confidence.

Take part in school life

Attend classes, arrive prepared, engage with learning and communicate with teachers when help is needed. A positive experience includes steady effort, academic honesty and respectful participation in the wider school community.

Build a respectful home life

Learn the household’s routines, discuss expectations around meals, chores and schedules, and be considerate of shared spaces. Differences are an opportunity for conversation; asking politely is often the best first step.

Make thoughtful, safe choices

Follow the school and program’s guidance on travel, activities, personal safety and substance use, as well as local laws. Discuss plans with the appropriate adults and complete any required approvals before making arrangements.

Communicate early and honestly

Share concerns about health, wellbeing, school or accommodation with the appropriate support contact. Keep agreed contacts informed and seek immediate local assistance in an emergency. The North America Program Department can help explain the specific guidance that applies to the student’s program.
